Positive Chick’s Top Ten Positivity Authors

think-positive

About two years ago I couldn’t stop thinking about how my life sucked. Yes, sucked. I was living paycheck to paycheck. I was grumpy because I hated my job and then would come home and have to get ready to go to my second job. I was sad because I wasn’t getting enough time with my family and when I was much of the time was spent arguing over money or how messy the house was. I was stressed to the max and feeling it every second of every day. Then I saw a book, May Cause Miracles: A Six Week Kick-Start to Unlimited Happiness by Gabrielle Bernstein. I remember smirking and thinking ‘lame, like positive-thinking could do anything to change the substantial problems in my life.’ Then, like a bolt of lightening, it hit me, ‘what if it could? What if that was all it took to be happy?’ I bought the book.

Six weeks later, I did feel better about my situation. I learned to love what and who I had in my life and be grateful for everything: the good, the bad, the ugly. No, my situation hadn’t changed much. I was still not the wealthiest person in the world but I was probably the happiest person I knew. All because of a book.

Now I share with you the authors of books on positive thinking so you can be the happiest person you know too!

1. Wayne Dyer

Wayne Dyer is a big favorite of mine. He started out life as the son of a mother and father who couldn’t and didn’t want to take care of him. Much of his life was spent in orphanages and in foster care.

Upon graduating from college, Dyer became a counselor and therapist. That’s when he began writing. Dyer was the author of over thirty highly successful books and a renowned public speaker until his death in 2015. One of his most prolific books, The Power of Intention is a bestseller and a life changer.

If you’ve seen Eat, Pray, Love, then you already know why Elizabeth Gilbert is on this list. Gilbert was stuck in an unhappy, unfulfilling marriage and when she got out, she went on an excursion on the path less traveled in order to find peace.

Gilbert’s newest book, Big Magic, strives to teach it’s reader that life holds magic everywhere. All you have to do is seize the moments and embrace the opportunities. Her many books, eight to date, will inspire and motivate you to live your most fabulous life.Gabrielle Bernstein

2. Gabrielle Bernstein

Gabrielle Bernstein “a next-generation thought leader” according to Oprah, struggled with drugs and massive amounts of stress despite being top in her field of public relations. She finally hit rock bottom at the tender age of twenty-five and sought to find peace rather than success. It worked.

Her books, such as May Cause Miracles, can lead you to happiness in your life the way it is right now rather than dreaming of how great things will be in the future.

3. Eckhart Tolle

The German-born author started his journey to inner peace when his bouts of depression got to be too much and he decided just to let go and let God control his future. The result of that letting go has been peace and over ten bestselling books, such as The Power of Now, on how to live a better, happier life.

4.  Louise Hay

The founder of Hay House, a spiritual book, CD and DVD publication company, is an 89-year-old powerhouse of positivity. Her own life started rocky. She was abused by her stepfather and molested by a neighbor before dropping out of high school at fifteen while pregnant. This woman endured and became not just a publisher of a successful spiritual company but she is an author also. Her books include: You Can Heal Your Life, The Power is Within You and Gratitude: A Way of Life, just to name a few.

 5. Jen Sincero

Jen Sincero, the author of the bestselling of You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life, is a real badass positive chick. As a success coach and speaker, Sincero travels the world promoting the self-success and happiness along the way

6. Don Miguel Ruiz

After a near fatal car accident, Don Miguel Ruiz’s life became focused on his family’s tradition of Ancient Toltec beliefs. His book, The Four Agreements, leads people through easy steps to a happier life.Norman Vincent Peale

7. Norman Vincent Peale

The author of the world famous, The Power of Positive Thinking, was a minister who felt weighed down by negativity and found a better way to live life through positive thinking. Peale died from a stroke in 1993 but his books live on.

8. Rhonda Byrne

Australian author, Rhonda Byrne, wrote her bestselling The Secret, which purports that the key to happiness is asking the universe and believing it is coming to you. She has followed up her successful book with several more books, DVDs and CDs on the same topic.

9. Gretchen Rubin

Gretchen Rubin, bestselling author of Better than Before and The Happiness Project, writes full time to help people find realistic ways to be happier than they already are. Her amazing easy to follow steps and real life anecdotes help make the books a fast and motivating read.
